Dante's Death in the Sky postcard: This vintage art is by Jean Edouard Dargent a French artist who lived from 1824 1899 it is an Illustration from Dante's Divine Comedy circa 1870. It depicts dark stormy clouds and a skeleton, flying thru the air with a bunch of bats, almost looks as it the bats and the skeleton are tied together with puppet strings. A column of men marches away below them and further away the vaguest hint of buildings or ruins a hill top and some countryside.
