DART Asteroid Deflecting Spacecraft 15 Cm Square Badge
DART or Double Asteroid Redirection Test is the first of what may become a fleet of planetary defence spacecraft to keep us from the fate of the dinosaurs. DART doesn’t obliterate asteroids. Instead, it crashes head-on with the threatening space rock to deflect it by changing its speed so that the asteroid will miss the Earth. DART uses an onboard camera and navigation software to autonomously zero in on the moving target. Another new technology on-board is the Xenon thruster, a solar electric propulsion system that takes the place of conventional chemical rockets. The first target for DART is the moonlet of Didymos, which is about 150 metres in diameter and orbiting the larger asteroid. Impact is scheduled for October 7, 2022.

I can't upload my photo for some reason, but I'm really chuffed with this badge. I ordered the square version as I thought that would stand out better than the normal round badge. But i hadn't nnoticed the size details - it really is 2 inches square, so it definitely will stand out!

I am very happy with this product! The printing came out perfects, the size of the button is not too big and not too small, and the shiny gloss added makes it stand out from the crowd!
