Degas' Horses Magnet

This is a spectacular image from French impressionist painter & sculptor Edgar Degas (1834-1917). Although an Impressionist, Degas was different from most of the Impressionists because he preferred to work indoors instead of outside in the natural light, He would often take photographs and then would paint from them when he was back in his studio. Degas was a keen observer of life. In this painting at the racetrack, he has once again frozen time.
