Venice Plein Air is an amazing sketch painted with bright watercolors by the artist, Samuel Dixon. The painting depicts a Venetian waterway complete with traditional gondolas and the shapes of people overlooking the water from one of the city's many bridges. Although clearly a sketch, the colours blend in a way that captures the ephemerality of a Venetian scene, the water is always flowing and the formless people come and go.
