dog horse and donkey pet portrait 2017 equine calendar

This original dog, horse and donkey art 2017 calendar is filled with some of the pictures I've painted over the years. These paintings have been created in soft pastel, watercolor or acrylic medium and they're worked in a realist style. I like to capture the unique character of each animal I paint, and I try to create the texture of the fur and the character in their eyes if I can. Some of the portraits are painted in watercolor and some are in soft pastel, the cute donkey is a pencil drawing. I use digital photos for the pet portraits and other animal paintings, I like to work from digital photos because I can use lots of different images of a much loved pet and create a unique portrait, I can also zoom right into the image in to get the tiniest of detail. I think this calendar will make a wonderful gift for someone special or perhaps you'd like to treat yourself to this little piece of art to hanging on your wall.
