Dolomedes Congratulations Expectant Parents Card

Admittedly, this card will have a limited (if any) audience, but I had to make it. Here's the reason - this Dolomedes tenebrosus Mom-to-Be was trying to make her way across our floor, standing on tiptoe as her egg sack, containing her precious eggs, was large and heavy. Her leg span was a good 3". Dolomedes are VERY good mothers, carrying their egg sack (without eating) until the babies hatch. As the youngsters emerge, they take up residence in a nursery web guarded by Mom. Once the babies go off on their own, they make no webs; they are wandering hunters.
