Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, is decked out in holiday lights. A hotel flashes Christmas and winter themes from its windows. In the centre is the iconic Kauffman Centre for the Performing Arts in downtown. Behind the Kauffman Centre are the pylons of Bartle Hall.
At the bottom of the photograph in the Centre, The Scout, a famous statue by Cyrus E. Dallin, stands overlooking Downtown Kansas City from its location in Penn Valley Park. The statue, more than 10 feet tall, depicts a Sioux Indian on horseback surveying the landscape.
