"Dress of Sinners, Dress of Saints" Flip Flops

Dress of Sinners, Dress of Saints is evocative of mediaeval/Renaissance era altarpiece paintings. Inspired by the colours in an "Old Masters" kind of technique with a full grisaille underpainting and subsequent hundreds of layers of acrylic glazing over the course of 13 months. On the left are the "Sinners" (referencing mediaeval/Renaissance depictions of hellish scenes, demons, monsters, etc.) and on the right are the "Saints" (referencing mediaeval/Renaissance depictions of angels, saints, glorious religious pageantry, etc.). The background is intentionally evoking those marvellous Patinir rocky cliffs depicted frequently in Flemish landscapes of that period.
