Eagle Nebula M16 Hubble Photo Print

This Hubble Space Telescope image shows a column of gas and dust in the Eagle Nebula (M16). Inside the cloud are globules of dense gas known as EGGs (Evaporating Gaseous Globules), within some of which new stars are forming. This nebula is situated about 6,500 light years away, in the Serpens constellation. Credit: NASA, ESA, STScI, J. Hester and P.
