Element Water T-Shirt

This print shows a human sitting in the lotus position by a stream, meditating to attain inner wisdom. On the chest is a lotus flower placed, and behind it is a sphere. There are five fluid, formless drops of water falling down towards the stream. The plants represent ability to adapt to a world in constant change. Behind the figure is a waterfall of Japanese signs meaning Water Soul. The interpretation of this print could also be seen as the connection between man and nature. Sui is the second of the six elements. Water is represented by the fluid, flowing and formless objects of the world. The obvious example of sui is rivers, but sui is also found in plants due to their ability to adapt to their environment, growing and the changing according to the Sun and the changing of seasons. In the body, blood and other bodily fluids represent sui. Emotionally, the Water element is associated with emotion, defensiveness, adaptability, flexibility, suppleness and magnetism. In the mind, sui is tendencies towards adaption and change. Black is the primary colour of sui. It is the second lowest of the six elements, and hence the second least powerful. In the Five Ring Pagoda, the Water ring is sphere shaped.
