Elizabeth Lamb, Viscountess Melbourne Canvas Print

Elizabeth Lamb (born Elizabeth Milbanke 1751 - 1818), Viscountess Melbourne c1784 by British Painter Richard Cosway (1742 - 1821), a noted miniaturist and portrait painter of the Regency Era. A beautiful portrait of Elizabeth Lamb in the period dress of the times wearing a black hat with orange/red feathers and holding a reading book in one hand with her arms folded. A black cape with a satin gold lining is draped over her sholders which covers a v-neck white blouse, adorned with a white pearl necklace as well as a black choker on her neck. In the background is a large red drape which partially exposes a landscape of trees in the distance. Elizabeth Lamb wife of Whig Politician Peniston Lamp, was considered to be one of the most influential hostesses of the extended Regency Period.
