Ella/Achilles the Tiger, by I_am_only_a_Big_Child Mug

A blue and white mug captures a special moment of narration, in the artwork of I_am_only_A_Big_Child, as Ella told the story of Achilles the Tiger at the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation in Mexico City, Mexico. I'm truly grateful to Big Child for allowing me to use his artwork! You're a treasure, BigChild! Achilles was rescued by Eduardo at BJWT with 11 fractures because the people who tried to care for him, fed him only meat without bones, thinking it would be adequate. As he grew, his own weight became too heavy for his bones and they broke. Papa Bear (Eduardo) fed him chicken necks, which are very high in phosphorus and calcium which help to heal and strengthen a weak tiger's bones. They carried Achilles everywhere and prevented him from moving under his own power as much as possible until he was fully healed. One video on my Instagram shows the first steps Achilles took as he walked to Eduardo. As he reached his Papa Bear he starts chuffing and you can hear the passion in Eduardo as well. We were all in tears as well. It was as if he was saying, "Thank you for my life!"
