Elysium - A digital Otherworld T-Shirt

It must have been sometime during the 1970s that I watched something that we would call a mystery series today. I have long forgotten what it was called. What I do remember is a secret society, which called itself “Elysium”. I immediately fell in love with the word. Something I tend to often do, falling in love with words. In Greek mythology, Elysium describes a conception of the afterlife. Apparently, it was a sort of exclusive version of Nirwana, reserved for heroes and other high-net-worth individuals. The digital world seems to progress towards the future in ever bigger strides. It is hard to keep up with the pace of new technologies and it seems that that special knowledge is reserved to an elite group of stylish nerds. Or maybe I´m getting old. This design tries to elegantly play with those notions. Showing a place that is characterised by its beyondness and ultra-modern seclusion. This product meanders between irony and admiration.
