This design features a painting by Briton Rivière (1840–1920), who was an English artist of Huguenot descent. It shows a dog relaxing. The dog appears to be sleeping, but its eyes are open and it is watching us. The breed of the dog is a cocker spaniel. It has blonde fur. There is a mouse peering out in the cracks between the stonework of the building where the dog is lying. The original artwork was painted in 1875.
