The Kuntsformen dr Nature (the Art Forms of Nature) was published in 1904 and is one of the most magnificent and detailed series of Biological Illustrations ever made. Strictly speaking they are masterpieces of art which feature hand drawn and masterfully coloured fractals. They were produced long before anyone knew about fractals, and their order, symmetry and design became the basis for many modern art movements such as the Art Nouveau.
