Archangels Michael and Gabriel, Reproduction of original Ethiopian Art. Two large angels side by side, dressed in traditional ethnic woven fabrics painted in authentic African style dating the late 17th century Gondar, Ethiopia. Ethiopia was the first country to adopt Christianity. Christianity dates to the first century AD in Ethiopia, making it unique in the Sub-Sahara region of Africa. This illuminated manuscript is from the late 17th century, Gondar, Ethiopia, when that art was at its height of expression under the Solomonic emperor Fasilädäs, though Ethiopian Christian art can date much further back. I really liked this product, the picture is lovely and the colours are really nice. I wanted it to up-cycle a writing bureau and I was concerned that the paper may be too thin. But it wasn't and it worked fine. On the pictures I have uploaded the print looks a bit aged and not so vivid and new looking. As I wanted an aged patina but the actual print is clearer and the colours are brighter. The colour and prints are good.
