Dorothy Lathrop (1891-1980) was an important American children's book illustrator and author. She illustrated more than 38 children's books, also working as the primary illustrator for many popular American authors of American children's literature. Her fairy illustrations are her most famous works and this is a wonderful example.
Along with writing and illustrating children's stories, Dorothy Lathrop's also wrote and illustrated many books devoted to the importance of animals.
