"Flowering Cherry and Autumn Maples with Poem Slips" by Tosa Mitsuoki, 1654/81
In this exquisite artwork, Japanese aristocrats engage in the elegant custom of reciting classical poetry while admiring spring and autumn foliage. Premier court painter Tosa Mitsuoki captures the fleeting beauty of the seasons, reflecting the melancholic hours after the courtiers' departure. One screen shows a blooming cherry tree, while the other displays vibrant red and gold maple leaves. Poems on slips of paper, called tanzaku, hang from the branches, bearing traces of human presence. The screens were possibly commissioned by or gifted to Tofukumon'in, a daughter of the Tokugawa shogun, and the emperor Gomizunoo. In an era marked by increasing shogunate control, this royal couple encouraged a renaissance of courtly taste, reminiscent of early-mediaeval aristocratic life.

I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame.
This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again.
One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up.
Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font.
Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
