The show is described as:- "A Troupe of Pearl Divers from Hawaii Sandwich Islands, the most expert aquatic divers in existence,exemplifying in a most daring manner the escape of the Count of Monte Cristo after being cast into the sea securely tied in a sack. Headlong dives and plunges from the top of the tent into a pool of water but three feet deep. A veritable circus of the sea." From the Library of Congress Collection.
