Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo Card

Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo Card

Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus banksii nas) The Red-tailed Black Cockatoo is known to the Noongar, First Australian people as ‘Karrak’. It is now rare and patchily distributed over a markedly reduced habitat. Usually seen in pairs or small flocks, and now very rarely in flocks of up to 200. It has declined due to destruction of forests and woodlands, also competition for nest hollows with native and exotic species and the impact of fire. There are three subspecies of Red-tailed Black Cockatoo in Western Australia. Only the south-western population naso is listed as Vulnerable. The male is more brightly colored. They can live for 25–50 years in their home, the Eucalypt forests. They feed on Eucalypt seeds. It is endemic to Western Australia. This image was designed by Natural History Illustration students from the University of Newcastle, as part of the Wild About Australia Project. We hope this encourages your love of nature. Please help save our planet. Information from the Western Australian Museum website.

I think it’s great how you can design your own cards and buy them and they’re not even expensive which is really good. The printing turned even better than I expected
