Fossil Nautiloid Cephalopod Ancient Sea Mollusc Card

Fossil Nautiloid Cephalopod Ancient Sea Mollusc Card

The nautiloids are diverse creatures that flourished in the sea during the Late Cambrian period of the Paleozoic era. This pic is an authentic fossil about 5 in (12.7cm) long, you can see the hinged conical body, which might have been able to curl and flex; at the larger end, head and tentacles would have emerged. This fossil shell resides in a rock in Hull (Gatineau) Quebec, Canada. During the Cambrian period this area was completely underwater as the Champlain Sea. When the water receded it left a rich fossil history, and you can find many in the stones along the banks of the Ottawa River in Ontario or Quebec, Canada. Shortly after I took this picture, some thugs tried to take the fossil by banging holes in the rock around it, but didn't succeed, just hacked up the rock & wrecked the fossil. This however is a nice original image, with natural texture of the stone. The Canadian Shield, in Ontario and Quebec, Canada, has the oldest known rocks in the world which are a great source of ancient plant & animal fossils & amazing rock formations. Super original art idea for anyone into fossils, rocks, dinosaurs or prehistoric life, ancient creatures, sea animals, earth sciences, geology, perfect for paleontologists, and also makes a great souvenir of Canada! I think it’s great how you can design your own cards and buy them and they’re not even expensive which is really good. The printing turned even better than I expected
