Four Girls Postcard

August Macke (January 3, 1887 - September 26, 1914) was a German painter who worked in the early 20th century. In the 1910s, he joined the Blue Knight group, which was an avant-garde art movement at that time, together with Kandinsky and Marc. Because Macke died young at the age of 27, his activities were limited to a few years, but his paintings, featuring simplified forms and fantastic colors, created a unique style that distinguished both expressionism and abstract painting.
