Frozen Fall Creek Falls Poster

After several days below freezing weather I drove to the Tennessee State Park Fall Creek Falls located on the plateau near Spencer Tennessee. The road to the falls was closed due to ice so I took the short hike to the over look of the falls. As you can see water is still flowing but the normal 256' water fall had been reduced drastically by the build up of ice at its base. Very long Icicles hanging from the falls were probably 30 to 40' long and the build up of ice at the bottom was probably 20 to 30' deep with a hole in the middle where the water continued falling. It was an extremely cold day that day and the cold penetrated my warm clothing even on a short hike. I was reminded of this quote by Pope Francis "A little bit of mercy make the world less cold and more just."
