G K Gilbert VI - Pioneering Geomorphologist Coffee Mug

This product highlights a panorama of glacial erosion features in the Sierra Nevada (Hermit Peak?). The photos used for the panorama were taken during expeditions by well-known USGS geomorphologist and geologist, Grove Karl Gilbert. The vantage point for the photos was to the south of the South Branch of the San Joaquin River, Fresno County, California. The photos have been assembled into the panorama shown on the mug by GEOLOGY WORKS. The original images can be accessed at the USGS Photographic Library website.
