Gangster John Dillinger - 1903 - 1934 an American bank robber in the Depression-era. He was charged but not convicted of murder of an East Chicago/Indiana, police officer during a shoot-out. His gang robbed 2 dozen banks & 4 police stations & escaped jail twice.
