Gaspard de Coligny was brutally beaten and thrown out of his bedroom window just before dawn on August 24 Saint Bartholomew's Day Massacre 1572. He was French nobleman and Admiral of France, best remembered as a disciplined Huguenot leader in the French Wars of Religion and a close advisor to French king Charles IX. The work is also public property in countries and territories where the length of the copyright is the life of the author plus 100 years or less . Public domain, Creative Commons in US.
