General William Tecumsah Sherman 1864 Card

This commemorative card features a reproduction of a photograph of General William Tecumseh Sherman on horseback at Federal Fort No. 7, near Atlanta, Georgia; a view from the General Sherman in Atlanta Campaign. After three and a half months of incessant manoeuvring and much hard fighting, Sherman forced General Hood to abandon the munitions centre of the Confederacy. Sherman remained there, resting his war-worn men and accumulating supplies, for nearly two and a half months; taken in November, 1864.
