Gentleman Holding a Parasol for a Spanish Lady Doormat

This design features a painting by the Spanish artist Francisco Goya (1746–1828). It shows a fashionable Spanish lady sitting on the ground, while a young man stands beside her, holding a parasol in his hand to protect her from the sun. There is also a small dog resting on the woman's lap. The lady is dressed elegantly in expensive silks and fabrics: her dress is made according to the contemporary fashions of the French aristocracy. She is also holding a fan in her right hand. Since the woman is seated on the ground, she is possibly resting from a long walk. The original art was painted by Francisco Goya circa 1777, and it was commissioned to be hung on the walls of the Royal Palace of El Pardo in Madrid, Spain.
