Every field in Gettysburg is a battlefield, every blade of grass a memorial to the estimated 57,225 wounded, missing or dead when the Union forces met the Confederate from July 1st through the 3rd, 1863. On November 19th of that same year, President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address at the dedication of the Soldier's National Cemetery. Seldom have finer words been spoken. A solemn memorial to all soldiers who have given their 'last full measure of devotion'. Though a modern image, if you look long enough you might still see the ghosts.
