German expressionist painter of Der Blaue Reiter movement in Germany, August Macke, 1887-1914. Macke painted this idyllic scene of young women and girls in pinafores and hats outdoors shortly before he was called up to serve in World War One, where he was killed. Mädchen unter Bäumen is the German title. From The Wall Art Shoppe. Predominate colours are orange red, blue and green, with shades of lavender purple and yellow accents.
