Glasgow George Square Poster
George Square in Glasgow, Scotland - George Square, located in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland, is one of the city's most iconic and historically significant landmarks. The square was laid out in the late 18th century and originally named after King George III. It began as a muddy, uneven area, but over time, it was transformed into a central hub of civic and cultural life in Glasgow.
During the 19th and early 20th centuries, George Square witnessed several significant events and developments. In 1837, the square became the location of the first-ever public statue of Sir Walter Scott, a renowned Scottish novelist and poet. The square's Victorian and Edwardian architecture began to take shape, with elegant buildings like the City Chambers, a grand municipal building completed in 1888, which remains one of Glasgow's architectural gems. George Square also served as a focal point for political and social gatherings, including labor protests and demonstrations for workers' rights.
Perhaps one of the most famous incidents associated with George Square occurred in 1919 when a massive labor protest, known as the "Battle of George Square," erupted. Tens of thousands of workers gathered in the square demanding a 40-hour workweek and better wages, leading to a confrontation with the police. The riot that ensued resulted in injuries and arrests but eventually led to labor reforms in Scotland.
Over the years, George Square has continued to evolve, serving as a venue for celebrations, commemorations, and public gatherings. The square has been adorned with numerous statues and monuments dedicated to notable figures from Scottish history. Today, it remains a bustling center of Glasgow, hosting events such as Christmas markets, cultural festivals, and demonstrations. George Square stands as a testament to Glasgow's rich history, a place where the city's past, present, and future converge.

I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame.
This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again.
One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up.
Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font.
Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
