Inspiration for this painting came from Rossetti and other pre-Raphaelite painters. Flora is the mythological goddess of blossoms and flowers. A beautiful woman is standing among a flowering spring season garden in bloom. About the artist: Evelyn De Morgan (Evelyn Pickering) (1855-1919) was an English Preraphaelite painter who often painted mythological scenes.
