The design was nice and my mom really enjoyed it. I just expected/hoped for some actual sparkle effect to the plates - it was really just a matte gold. I really thought there would be more of a glittery/sparkle effect to this design. In reality, it was just some faint gold dots. I felt that a bit of sparkle justified the cost of the plates, but without that, I think it was a bit over-priced.
