Good Old Jolly Swagman Tea Towel
In Australia the legendry Swagman traveled by foot from farm to farm carrying his traditional swag (bedroll). Also characteristic of the swaggie's clothes was a hat strung with corks to ward off flies. the During the depression of the 1890s and the Great Depression of the 1930s, unemployed men traveled the rural areas of Australia on foot, their few meager possessions rolled up and carried in their swag. They sought work in farms and towns sometimes doing menial tasks just for food and shelter. A romanticized figure, the swagman is famously referred to in the song "Waltzing Matilda", by Banjo Paterson, which tells of a swagman who turns to stealing a sheep from the local squatter. Swagmen remain a romantic icon of Australian history and folklore. This is the first in the series of Tea Towels that have been created to produce a unique range suitable for home use and certainly a great idea for a souvenir to send overseas. Keep your eye open for more designs in the range ... coming soon.

This is a nice quality, large kitchen towel made of microfiber, with a custom print from one of my paintings. The printing turned out well and the colors look vibrant.
