One of Gustav Klimt's most famous works, The Kiss features prominent use of gold leaf, and was inspired by the ornate style of ancient mosaics. Klimt (1862-1918) was one of the primary members of the Vienna Secession movement. His work is chraacterised by sensualism, often involving erotic figures. His paintings fetch some of he highest prices for art work, some fetching upwards of $100,000,000. Looked great and was perfect for my Nana's 99th it arrived super quick so much quicker than sending the original from the other side of the world!
