Andersen's statue stands on the street named after him -- H.C. Anderson Boulevard, which is one of Copenhagen's widest and busiest boulevards. Tivoli gardens is a famous amusement park and garden, which opened in August 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world. Behind the Andersen statue is the City Hall and City Hall Square. Andersen spent many years in Copenhagen. Andersen was a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels and poems, but he most remembered for his fairy tales, which have been translated into more than 125 languages.
