The Dream.
Rousseau was one of those unfortunate artist who gained respect only posthumously. Looked down upon because of his "Naive" or "Primitive" style, recognition grew after his death and his art has been quite influential. A French post-impressionist painter, he is best known for paintings depicting jungle scenes.
