The great blue heron, in the original photograph by MaeFlowers on this Mouse Pad, is puffing up his feathers as he walks towards another heron, an invader in his territory. The photo is a closeup of the wild bird's body in profile, showing the long, thin plumage rising at the top, and the wider wing feathers underneath.
