About This Design
Hibiscus schizopetalus - Japanese Lantern Tea Towel
Hibiscus schizopetalus (schizo means split and petalus means petal) - Japanese lantern, is native to tropical areas in eastern Africa. Its flowers droop in a manner reminiscent of Japanese lanterns, hence the common name. It typically grows as a narrow, woody, evergreen shrub to 6-9’ tall. Lantern-like flowers (to 3” across) bloom seasonally. Each flower features fringed, pink to red petals and a long slender pendent central column. This plant is synonymous with and formerly known as Hibiscus rosa-sinensis var. schizopetalus. It is commonly called fringed hibiscus or fringed rosemallow.

I was delighted with the beautiful tea towels, the design looked really lovely. I adore garden ponds and these towels and other products I ordered with the same design will bring me so much pleasure. My garden is too small for a real pond. If you love ponds and wildlife this design is for you!

They absorb so well and wash up really nicely not losing their colour at all. They are expensive but in my opinion they are well worth the money. Yes they turned out perfectly to match my new kitchen
