HIroshige Kite Suido Bridge
Hiroshige's 1857 print Suidō Bridge and the Surugadai Quarter depicts the view from Surugadai, Kanda River, Suidō Bridge, Edo Castle, Mount Fuji. Koinobori carp streamers place the scene around the Boy's festival on the 5th day of the 5th month. Ukiyo-e ("pictures of the floating world") is a genre of Japanese woodblock prints (or woodcuts) and paintings produced between the 17th and the 20th centuries, featuring motifs of landscapes, tales from history, the theatre, and pleasure quarters. It is the main artistic genre of woodblock printing in Japan. The Floating World store on Zazzle painstakingly restores these historical treasures to vibrant colour and fixes basic aging issues.
