The Pemaquid Point Light in Bristol, Maine, is one of the most famous historic lighthouses in the United States, having been featured on a US quarter in 2003. The lighthouse was commissioned in 1827 by President John Quincy Adams. The striated rock beach made an interesting foreground to this photograph.
