Historic US Route 66 Ash Fork Arizona Oval Sticker

The Arizona location on this sticker is one of many along Historic US Route 66. Known as Main Street of American and the Mother Road, US Route 66 was one of the original US highways. The highway connected Chicago to Los Angeles through eight states (including Illinois and California). The sticker is comprised of a photograph of a well house wall along a walkable segment of Route 66 in Parks, AZ as the background and the two emblems are from a photography of the Arizona Historic US Route 66 sign. The highway was established in 1926 the year U.S. numbered highways came into existence and it was officially removed from the US Highway System in 1985 after having been replaced by the Interstate Highway System. Arizona established segments of the road as a National Scenic Byway (NSB) with the name “Historic US Route 66” in 2005. The US Department of Transportation recognises a NSB for its archaeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational, and/or scenic qualities. IMPORTANT NOTE: Although these stickers have the shape of those we see on vehicles, these oval stickers are NOT durable vinyl and although they have a scratch-resistant front they are NOT water resistant so they won't last on the outside of vehicles.
