These enigmatic birds are deeply rooted in the ancient European lore, playing crucial roles in the sagas and myths of the Norse pantheon.
Huginn, meaning "thought" in Old Norse, and Muninn, meaning "memory," are the embodiment of wisdom, intuition, and knowledge. According to myth, they bring Odin information and insights from the world, serving as his messengers and spies. With their piercing gazes, they scan the realms, gathering intelligence and reporting back to the All-Father.
The Huginn and Muninn design features a ravens' silhouette, intricately engraved in stone, surrounded by a circle of runic letters. The minimalist ink style adds a touch of mystery, as if the raven's secrets are being revealed through the intricate patterns. The design is a masterpiece of Viking ornamentation, reminiscent of the ancient Norse art that adorned the walls of longhouses and artefacts of the Viking Age.
This design is not just a visual representation but a nod to the rich cultural heritage of ancient Europe. The inclusion of ravens, crows, and birds in general, speaks to the deep symbolism and reverence for these creatures in Norse mythology. The use of runic letters adds an extra layer of significance, connecting the design to the ancient writing systems of the Norse people.
For those fascinated by the mystical and the unknown, this design is a tribute to the enduring power of Huginn and Muninn. As messengers of the gods, these ravens continue to inspire and captivate, serving as a reminder of the complex and multifaceted world of Nordic mythology.

Really nice image fixed to the tiles in my shower as a background to a soap dish. This was to hide the marks left by a broken soap dish. Just used tile adhesive and white grout. I think it looks good, almost like the drips are falling from the soap dish. No probs. Nice image.
