I Heart [Love] Sticky Rice [Khao Niao] - Thai Isan Lao Food. Glutinous rice also called sticky rice, sweet rice, waxy rice, botan rice, biroin chal, mochi rice, and pearl rice is a type of short-grained Asian rice that is especially sticky when cooked. In Thailand and Laos the rice is known as Khao Niao ข้าวเหนียว / ເຂົ້າໜຽວ (Rice Sticky). It is cooked by soaking for several hours and then steaming in a bamboo pot. After that, it should be turned out on a clean surface and kneaded with a wooden paddle to release the steam; this results in rice balls that will stick to themselves but not to fingers. I really liked this product, the picture is lovely and the colours are really nice. I wanted it to up-cycle a writing bureau and I was concerned that the paper may be too thin. But it wasn't and it worked fine. On the pictures I have uploaded the print looks a bit aged and not so vivid and new looking. As I wanted an aged patina but the actual print is clearer and the colours are brighter. The colour and prints are good.
