Interstellar Voyager Spacecraft Hockey Puck

After over 40 years of exploring the planets and solar wind of our Solar System, the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft are beginning an extended mission into interstellar space. Voyager 1 flew beyond the heliopause in 2012 and Voyager 2 crossed the heliopause into interstellar space in 2018. While thruster fuels and electrical power are still viable, the Voyager science instruments will continue to send back measurements to us on planet Earth. Then each will travel onward to other stars of the Milky Way galaxy while carrying the Golden Record with images and sounds of our species… just in case they encounter any alien lifeforms are advanced enough to decode the messages.
