Irises was painted in 1889 while Vincent van Gogh was living at the asylum at Saint Paul-de-Mausole in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France, in the last year before his death in 1890. A stunning display of violet irises with vibrant green leaves, rich terracotta soil, against a back drop of bright orange marigolds and one single white iris. This image has been digitally enhanced to restore the original bold, bright colours and strong outlines. A perfect mug for any art lover!
