James Webb Space Telescope Gold Foil Card ... Launched Christmas Day December 25, 2021. I watched the launch on computer during the actual launch. The total cost so far has been ten billion US dollars! The primary mirror of JWST, the Optical Telescope Element, consists of 18 hexagonal mirror segments made of gold-plated beryllium. “Lift off from a tropical rainforest to the edge of time itself, James Webb begins a voyage back to the birth of the universe.” This telescope is hoped to see or detect information as far away and as far ago as 3.5 to 3.8 Billion years ago to the Birth of the Universe, learn more about possible habitable planets, and even find possible life on them even technologically advanced life. Such images and information will begin coming to us in as soon as 7 months or so. It is a fragile tool though and there are plenty of space rocks that could harm it. It will be too far away to send anyone to fix it.

This review is by the artist who created the designs on these cards. I would recommend this product but only in the size large. The paper quality on this is wonderful...it has a nice texture. But I believe my design was too detailed for the small sized card which affected the printing (see below). I was a little disappointed in the printing on this card. There was black speckling this gold. I think the design may have been too small for this medium, because this wasn't as noticeable on wreath design I bought on a larger card. The wreath, pictured with this card, is similar style to the tree but the printing came out so much better when it was just printed a little bit larger. I think this design also would probably print better on a larger card.

I like to buy a test piece of the designs I create, so blown away by the quality of the foil on these cards! I was a little unsure if they would turn out fake looking (as the product shots really don't do the foil quality justice) ... please don't hesitate they are so sparkly and very elegant looking. The printing of the design in this real foil really adds a very elegant look to a very simple design.
