Janiserry Dachshund Shirt

ink drawing on 9"x11" sketchbook paper Inspired by my dream last night. I was walking through the Farmer's Market in downtown San Antonio. Before you were allowed to enter you had to rent a "Janiserry":http://www.theottomans.org/english/campaigns_army/index_3.asp Dachshund . They would lead you to which ever stall you were looking for but were very short tempered and were always snapping at everyone and taking offence at the slightest word. As we were walking along my Janiserry was grumbling and mumbling to himself about the ***** tourists and instead of leading me to the eggplants for my dinner party he took me to a stall that was selling turquoise. The man in the stall kept trying to tell me I should use turquoise in my recipe to add crunch to the lasagne and besides he said I didnt like eggplant anyway. When I looked around my Janiserry had wandered out of the store and was trying to steal the shoelaces from a mailman's shoes. The mailman dropped his mail sack and the dog took off with it. It had my invitations and recipe card in it so I had to chase him and I ended up in a school gymnasium....and then woke up. And I am very, very tired today. By the way I love eggplant and I dont put eggplant in lasagne. Some of the dream might be because my husband told me one of his co-workers (mailman) got bit by a pitbull yesterday. Also, I love (most) pit bulls...
