This design features an image of the blossoming flowers on a Japanese cherry tree (known in the Japanese language as "sakura"). In Japan, the cherry tree is seen as a symbol of the ephemeral nature of life, because it blooms only for one or two weeks every year. This idea is influenced by Buddhist teachings on impermanence. The flowers are a beautiful shade of pink and are exceptionally beautiful. The trees also produce small, bitter fruits or tasty cherries.
