寅 (Tora) is one of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac. The twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac is a division of the calendar and other systems that originated in ancient China. The Chinese and Japanese zodiac signs are slightly different in terms of Kanji and animals used. In modern Japan, the Japanese zodiac is used for New Year's card designs, birth year designations, and fortune telling.
People born in the year of the tiger are said to be positive and have a strong spirit of challenge, and tend to take on any challenge with strong conviction.
The years of birth are 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022, 2034.
謹賀新年（kinga shinnen / きんが しんねん） means "I wish you a Happy New Year”.
